Double framed flowers, creating a stencilled background, Florals and stitches

Hi there and welcome to another fantastic episode here at Sweet Cherry Cards. I am currently a guest designer for Stamplorations and I really enjoy being part of their bloghop.

Today I have some exciting techniques that you can use in your card making. This first card showcases a beautiful bunch of flowers in a double frame .

The stamp used here is Stamplorations 'Radiant Roses' which are coloured in a beautiful lilac/purple hue. I checked up the meaning and they convey a feeling of 'love at first sight' and I can tell you when I saw this stamp it really was 'love at first sight'.
To colour this beauty I used the following copic colours
V09, V06, V04, RV32, YG17, YG05, YG03, YG01

After colouring these roses I felt the best way to capture their beauty was to encapsulate them within a beautiful frame and the double frame look makes them more compelling and more elegant. For the message I used a word stamp from Stamplorations coffee bloom 'Thank you Mocha Much ' but I covered part of the message with tape as I just wanted the words 'Thank You'. So after inking the stamp I removed the tape and stamped the image underneath the roses.

Here they are again.

The second card shows how to make a diecut stencilled background using the Stamplorations stamp and die complimentary set called ' Tweet love.'

To make this card I first created the stencil using the bird die, cutting in a triangular design.

After taping the sides down I begun stencilling the pattern using distressed inks in the following colours- mustard seed, spiced marmalade and peeled paint, to create the background on which I would place the giraffe.

Using copics I coloured the giraffe with the following colours- E15, E13, E11, Y21, Y35, E02, C5, W04, W02, W0 AND BLICK'S WARM Black. For added effected I glazed it with glossy accents.

Here is the completed card with the bird coloured in Copics, E13, E11 and cut ot and placed next to the die cut message Birthday Wishes also by Stamplorations. To tie in the bird background to the giraffe image I added the words 'Little birdie told me'

I havent used stitches on cards for a while and I decided that it would make an interesting twist as an embellishment for this floral card.

For the first step, I distressed the background using the following colours wilted violet, mustard seed, spiced marmalade.

Using a wet paintbrush I splattered water all over the background to distress it. For the message I used the Stamplorations 'Power to Imagine' Stamps for the message on the front.

Before I added the florals, I stitched diagonal lines to the top and bottom of the background panel. The florals were die cut out of lilac and yellow cardstock using the Stamplorations Spring flower Layering Dies. I also diecut the floral background out of green cardstock and cut off the leaf parts to add some variation of colour to the floral bunch. Here is a 2nd look at the completed card.

Hope you like today's cards. Dont forget to check out the other designers on this blog hop and comment for a chance to win $15 worth of yummy goodies at the stamplorations store. Have a sweet cherry day!

Wow Renee you are an expert with those Copics, the result is spectacular! Whether on the flowers or on the giraffe, and how clever to make your own stencil, I have to remember that! Have a great week! Hugs, Gwendolyn
