Poinsettia with Alizarin color burst , Embossed Resist and cool colours, Acrylics and layered diecuts

Hi again, and welcome to another great day here at Sweet Cherry Cards. I am always happy to be a part of the Stamplorations Bloghop. The stamps and dies are so much fun to use and really stretches your imagination and creativity.

The techniques you will be seeing here include emboss resist, sponging with acrylics, colouring with copics. Here is the first card.

EMBOSSED RESIST AND COOL COLOURS

My first card is one to put you truly in the Christmas spirit. It features the Angel on High Stamp by Stamplorations embossed in white, on white cardstock and highlighted with the use of cool colours.

I selected colours that reflect the colours of the sky which are blues and purples, in reference to the message 'on high'.  I chose Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet. Using the masked outline of a three edged scalloped edge die cut shape, I highlighted the words in the shape.

After removing the mask I sponged water all over the background to give it a softer look.

I then adhered the background to glittery blue cardstock and snowflake papers. For a little sparkle I added crystal stickles dots all over the background.

POINSETTIA WITH ALIZARIN COLOR BURST

This is a traditional Christmas card with a bit of a tropical twist with the bright green colours on the paper and on the poinsettias. This is from the Stamplorations stamp set Christmas Bell Medley.

To create the background, I spritz the watercolour paper with water and then lightly sprinkled Alizarin Crimson color burst powder by Ken Oliver. I havent used this in a while and I was 'wowed' by the result.

I then stamped several images of the poinsettia plant from the set in the colour Sunshine by Simon Says Stamp on a page from my copics marker pad. The 'reds' I used were R29, R35 and R43

The leaves were coloured in YG17,YG05 YG03.

After colouring all, I cut them all out and adhered them to the crimson background, and I left one to add to the message tag which was done on vellum. Here is the card again.

ACRYLICS AND LAYERED DIE CUTS

This was a truly fun one, using Dyan Reaveley's dylusions acrylic paint and a sponge dauber with the Birthday Wishes Cutplorations die by Stamplorations.

The colours I used were Pure Sunshine, London Blue and Cherry pie. The first colour used was the Pure Sunshine, followed by Cherry Pie and London Blue. I just lightly tapped the cardstock with the dauber to create the background.

I love the fun background it created just adding the different colours. I love how they dry quickly so I didnt have to wait long before adding each colour.

The next thing was to create the colour for the highlighted die cut of the words Birthday wishes which I also cut out of black card stock so I could layer them together.

Here is the card again with the the layered words Birthday Wishes on the sponged acrylic background.
