Hi there. I hope you are having a great time at the Stamplorations Spring Fling Blog Hop. Welcome to day 10 and to another exciting line up of cards for you and don't forget the Day 10 giveaway!
Today's card is called Happy Spring flowers in faux 3-D. I used Stamplorations Bold Florals Stencil for this project. A 4x6 stencil with florals of differing sizes. You can either use it to do an all over design or a partial pattern, in your card making. In this project I chose to do an all-over pattern.
For the first step, I gathered all the necessary materials
Stamplorations bold floral stencil
Neenah Solar White Cardstock
Simon Says Stamp- Black Cardstock
Ranger White embossing powder
Stamplorations Stamp- Blooming Spring Coffee Basket
Copic markers- R29, YR07, Y15
Avery Elle White Pigment Ink
Distress Inks- Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Candied Apple, Peeled Paint
I adhered the stencil to the Neenah Solar white cardstock, using painters tape. I began the stencilling process with candied apple and mustard seed.
I randomly mixed the colours to produce several variety of florals. I wanted it to have a lush tropical feel.
Upon completion, I removed the stencil. I then replaced it in an offset position above the stencilled area and added white pigment ink. This added dimension to the flowers as it created a shadow once it mixed with the distress inks. This is how I created the faux 3D look. It also softened the hue of the flowers and gave them a glow.
Using my copic markers, I added dots to the centre of the flowers starting with R29 and blending out with YR 07 and Y15. I finished up with embossing the sentiment 'Happy Spring' in white on black cardstock. Here is my card again.
I hope you enjoyed today's bloghop. Before you leave, please don't forget to leave a comment at the end of this blog and on the Stamplorations blog.
